선배경험담

내가 프린스턴에 합격한 것은 학교 성적, 과외활동, 그리고 에세이의 3박자가 맞았지 때문이라고 생각한다. 우선 AP 물리 등 어려운 과목을 수강하면서 GPA를 나름대로 좋게 유지한 것이 큰 힘이 됐다.

동시에 경시대회에서 좋은 성적을 거뒀고 학교 토론팀, 과학 올림피아드, 환경 클럽의 리더로 활동한 것도 도움이 됐다.

학업과 다양한 과외활동을 병행하는 것은 무척 힘들었지만 과외활동을 통해 보고, 배우고 느낀 점들은 대학 입학 에세이의 좋은 소재가 됐다.

AP 시험은 12학년까지 모두 11과목, SAT 시험은 수학, 화학, 생물 등 3과목에 응시했다. 예일에도 합격했지만 프린스턴을 택한 이유는 프린스턴이 학부중심의 대학이어서 유명한 교수님들로부터 직접 강의를 들을 수 있다는 장점과 마치 중세의 성처럼 아름다운 캠퍼스가 마음에 들기 때문이다.

I think the reason I got into Princeton was because my grades in school, extracurricular activities, and my essay were in three beats.

First of all, taking difficult subjects such as AP Physics and maintaining a good GPA in my own way helped me a lot. At the same time, I did well in competitions, and it helped me to be the leader of the school debate team, the Science Olympiad, and the Environment Club.

It was very difficult to combine my studies with various extracurricular activities, but what I saw, learned and felt through extracurricular activities became a good material for my college admissions essay.

The AP test took 11 subjects until the 12th grade, and the SAT test took 3 subjects: math, chemistry, and biology.

I got accepted to Yale, but I chose Princeton because Princeton is an undergraduate-oriented university, so I can listen to lectures from famous professors directly, and I like the beautiful campus like a medieval castle.
